Four AI insights for better work and well-being
By Amy Radin
Hello,
My 2025 word of the year: Mindset.
Here’s why: Mindset is the most powerful change enabler we each fully control — and our mindset captures how we approach change, challenges, and opportunities in an increasingly complex world.
A “growth mindset,” for example, helps individuals and organizations embrace change and thrive amidst uncertainty. I’ve been fortunate to see how effective change leaders are prioritizing mindset shifts to inspire collaboration, agility, and customer-centricity that translate into results.
Crucially, shifting our collective mindset is the key to raising global accountability so that society can address urgent challenges like climate change, equity, inclusion, and foster global cooperation. Our mindset also shapes how we choose to integrate AI, robotics, and advanced data analytics to augment human potential.
“Mindset” is not a state of being — instead, its power lies in how it translates into action and potential.
So, what’s your 2025 mindset?
Please read on to understand why fearless discovery is a change-maker must-have, gain AI insights to elevate your daily life, and more, and be sure to let me know about your 2025 mindset.
Why fear is the enemy of discovery
A founder once told me he spent nine months in a “cave” perfecting a product — only to realize he’d solved a problem no one had.
Forging forward with fearless discovery, I’ve learned, is the foundation of bold innovation.
Fear — of not knowing, failing, or facing uncertainty — can tempt us to bypass understanding real human needs.
But the most successful innovators embrace ambiguity with open minds. They observe, listen, and seek out the unexpected, letting insights emerge.
A success story: one life insurance company learned that clients were consulting 10 sources before talking to an advisor — their best friends, rich uncle, social media — an insight that ran counter to their belief that the advisor was the source of all guidance. This finding ultimately reshaped their entire go-to-market strategy to reflect clients’ real-world journey to purchasing a policy.
True innovation takes courage: to admit what we don’t know, to challenge our assumptions, and to let discovery guide us toward new possibilities. What might you unlearn to uncover something groundbreaking?
Four AI insights to elevate your work and well-being
Did you know: AI’s potential to create economic value through greater human well-being is almost 3x its potential for efficiency gains?
To kick off 2025, I’ve embarked on the AI 30-Day Agility Challenge from Todd McLees at humanskills.ai to explore how AI can enhance ideation, creativity, and thought leadership. Here are my four biggest takeaways as of Day 16:
- AI isn’t just about efficiency — its greater potential is to enhance well-being.
- AI can drive better conversations and deeper network engagement.
- Iterative AI prompts can unlock greater creativity and productivity.
- Balance is essential to avoid over-reliance on AI tools.
How has AI improved your work and well-being? I’d love to hear from you.
With 2025 underway, I’m already looking forward to a robust calendar — from my role as an instructor in the Columbia University Technology Management Master’s program to helping organizations navigate their most challenging transformations, crafting a new L&D product that reimagines how we develop talent in the private sector, and so much more.
Through keynotes, workshops, and strategy, I’m proud to partner with leaders to turn hard-won insights into meaningful change. Interested in tackling ambitious goals in 2025? I’d love to listen to what you’re focused on and see how I can help.
Warm regards,
